Recognized as a key figure shaping independent cinema in his home province, Noubikko Ray is a filmmaker and performance artist based in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. A self-proclaimed cinephile with a keen interest in exploring new stories and technologies, Noubikko Ray embodies the spirit of a modern storyteller. He finds deep satisfaction in producing work that is not only meaningful and dynamic but also serves to represent diverse communities through the powerful medium of film. His commitment to collaboration found a home in 2012 with the founding of Oasis Projects, his independent production company. Initially a hub for freelance creatives across film, music, and visual media, Oasis Projects evolved from passion projects to commissioned works, allowing Noubikko Ray's distinct regional focus to flourish. With a particular focus on regional short films, Noubikko Ray's talent has earned significant recognition. In 2014, his mid-length film, "Mapulang Paggugunamgunam," achieved remarkable success at the first Urduja Film Festival, winning Best Short Film, Best Actor (for Noubikko Ray himself), Best Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Story. Further validating his artistic contributions, his short film "Gina" received an Honourable Mention at the Asia South East-Short Film Festival in 2017, and a Best Film at the PangaSine Film Festival in 2025. Beyond his professional accolades and his drive to push cinematic boundaries in Pangasinan, Noubikko enjoys the reflective moments offered by a good cup of coffee, the inspiration drawn from watching independent films, and the creative outlet of playing the piano. He continues to be a vital voice, weaving compelling narratives from the heart of the Ilocos Region.
